Guild Business
Secretary (Mary Lou S) Nothing new.
Treasurers (Sonia G and Laurie B) Everything is going well.
Communications (Amanda K)
- Membership. Amanda reported that 4 membership spots have opened up due to 2025 member non-renewals. We currently have 5 people on the waiting list, and she will start contacting them to see if they do want to join.
- Starting in March, we will be resuming PayPal raffle purchases.
Events and Programming (Raya F)
- Our Nashua Public Library Quilt Show. Raya passed around a handout with the details. We will be able to display quilts in one of their galleries from mid-August to September. Each member can submit photos of up to 2 quilts, one small (up to 40” x 40”) and one large (up to 72” x 80”). If we get more submissions than can be shown, we will provide an online voting form for members to choose quilts to display. We hope to have the online photo submission form open March 12th through April 9th. Look through your quilts and take some photos to submit! The Library will provide and announce a reception time.
- Another t-shirt order. We loved the shorts we got before, so we are doing it again, with spring/summer colors this time. Order your t-shirts HERE. Ordering closes the weekend after the March 12th meeting.
- Quilter’s Treasure Chest. We would like members to make some small gifts for us to use to thank presenters and offer to members as times go on. Think pin cushions, mug rugs, placemats, small pouches, etc.
- Guild Outing? There is an exhibit of Chinese textiles at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Raya has proposed a March 7th date. Contact Raya if you would like to go. Raya posted details on our Facebook page.
- Speaker for next month! Sarah K and Raya worked together to invite Amy Friend, from During Quiet Time, to come to speak to us about Modern Quilting.
Community Outreach (Carol K and Robin R)
- Carol and Robin have continued to distribute quilts to local groups, including home hospice patients, the Front Door Agency in Nashua, and New Generations in Greenland. Lesley made a lovely quilt that the Merrimack Hospice House is going to use for a fundraising raffle. We need members to make wheelchair quilts.
- Robin asked members to make small quilts for the upcoming United Way Baby Shower. This event provides new baby items to local mothers. An email will go out soon with details. Quilts are needed by our April meeting.
- Charity Sewing Bee. Raya is asking for help to run a once a month event at the ArtHub to sew community outreach quilts. Please contact Raya if you have time to help out.
Retreats (Sarah K)
- Sarah gave us some more details on our next retreat, which will be held May 28-31, 2026 at The Fireside Inn in Portland, Maine. So far, 22 members have signed up. We need 3 more to run it. We can host up to 35 people. Non-member friends are welcome, paying a $35 surcharge. If you want to go and have not already signed up, contact Sarah ASAP so we can confirm the event.
