New England Quilt Museum
Lorri reported that our Guild is now a member of the New England Quilt Museum. This gives us some free admission tickets and access to the museum’s library and other resources. We can also exhibit our quilts at the Museum!
2026 Board Nominating Committee
Lorri also reported that a several members have offered to serve on the 2026 Board Nominating Committee. We will be setting that committee up soon. Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey and volunteered to help manage our Guild.
Guild Logo T-shirts
Raya reported that she has completed the setup for us to order Guild logo t-shirts and sweatshirts from the online printing company CustomInk. We have sent out an email and link for ordering. Everyone must order and pay the company directly. We must order by the next Guild meeting (September 14th). Merchandise will be shipped in one package to the Guild, and will be available for pickup at the October meeting. Raya will also post the link for ordering on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Proposed Changes to our Guild By-Laws.
Mary Lou described the changes and led a Q&A session the changes. Briefly, there are two categories of changes, those required the MGQ and one proposed by the Board.
The MQG is requiring additional language regarding our non-profit status, as well as more details about how we handle our finances. The Board is proposing changing our membership cap from 65 to 90. Mary Lou read Helen’s statement in support of this change.
Members asked some good questions and pointed out some language that we should change. Thank you to everyone who thoughtfully reviewed the handout. If you have any further questions or comments, please send them to Helen and Mary Lou.
The membership needs to approve these changes. We initially thought paper ballots at the September meeting would work. However, several members mentioned they wanted to vote but could not attend that meeting. We talked about offering some “Absentee Ballots.” We want you to know that the Board is working on this issue and will probably do electronic ballots for everyone. Stay tuned!
We will send out the draft By-Laws document with changes indicated by email no later than two weeks before voting. We will also post them on the Guild website.
MEETING ACTIVITY
This meeting’s activity was a strip swap.

Please note that when we were adding links to raffle prizes and quilt patterns and books, we tried to link them directly to the pattern or book designers’ webpages, but sometimes we couldn’t find the original sources and put links to popular online commerce sites that carry these products. We are not endorsing any particular commerce sites – most items can be found from multiple sources.
Please post quilts, questions, and any other quilt-related information on our private member FaceBook group. To join, click here.
