September Notes


September Notes:

  • Quilt Guild position survey:
    • Not volunteering, but showing what is something you are good at/would be OK working on. These are more to gauge people’s preferences throughout the years. Volunteer to be nominated by October, Vote in November; announce in December! On boarding in January. Teams
  • Retreat: 
    • Fall retreat: sign ups went well! May be able to add one more! Please email the guild email if you are still interested. 
    • Spring retreat: Still in the works... Margate resort, Saint Methodius (contoocook NH) If YOU would like to help on this committee for spring retreat, please email us!!!
  • Raffle: Door Prize: Beth! Evergreen pattern! 
  • Raffle: Lynn! Stripology Ruler
  • Raffle: Slimline - Donna K!
  • WIP Challenge:
    • today was the deadline to turn in WIP cards. WIP = Work In Progress. Have to declare ahead of time; can not add or change retroactively. No penalty for incomplete WIPs, but if you finish, you are entered into a raffle! 
  • Charity blocks:
    • 2 x KONA colors; Sew day on September 30; 
  • Simone’s Sew in:
    • went great! Beautiful area, 9 sign ups, Thank you Simone!!
  • Charity Report:
    • Delivered 32 quilts to foster children; 22 to Sleep In Heavenly Peace; about 10 ready to donate; at least 64 fro, only IN SEPTEMBER! AMAZING
  • Ruler Roulette! 
    • Flying geese, slotted HST,

Martha: Welcome Martha! 1. Former apparel design teacher; took a class

Barbara: 1. Table runner

Simone: 1. Jay bird pattern lightning, peacock feather quilting design; variegated thread, shows up differently across the quilt.

Lesley: 1. Old finish! 2. Panel from compass point quilts border is a Hoffman batik; 

Shelly: Simone’s class!

Donna: 1. WIP Charity, 2. For JoJo, with a label from her husband, 

Michelle: 1. Postcard from Sweden; made HST 2/time, so she made a second identical quilt!

Robin: 1. WIP, Sew-together bag, 2. WIP, charity built, 3. Fixed up hedgehogs! 

Lisa: 1. 3 yard quilts, for a 96th birthday, only accepts gold! 2. For a friend’s first baby, town square 3 yard!

Ophelia: 1. Sandhill sling, . Sweetwater 3. WIP, Hobbs, rhinos!, 4. Sweetwater, 5. Pixel quilt! Use grid interfacing, BUT you can see the grid ink through the fabric!
